We also operate ad hoc projects based on the community’s needs. For example, we operate a monthly “Books n Blether” reading group, a film group and an Old Record Club to help reduce social isolation within the community.
We also operate a yearly School Uniform Bank & Exchange to help children return to school with dignity and pride. Uniforms and equipment can be really expensive for parents and peer pressure to have modern clothing can put pressure on school children’s academic performance. We try to help the most vulnerable children via this project to help all children to return to school with pride. All the uniforms and equipment is donated via parents, grandparents, local supermarkets and local small businesses.
